Residential and business subscribers are constantly raising the bar in their demand for advanced services and related service quality.

Services like IPTV and VoIP involve multiple devices, complex setups and change of existing technological layers -  nevertheless  subscribers expect service to be as simple and reliable as traditional TV and phone.

Therefor service providers have to deliver a seamless and positive customer experience throughout the entire service lifecycle.

TR-069 is, like SIP, only loosely specified and therefore leaves degrees of freedom for ACS server vendors to reject CPEs for various reasons.

Zero Touch service activation is the ability to allow self activation of devices and services - fully automated or managed by the subscriber.

Centralized management of QoS: Quality of Service needs to be managed from a central management system to allow comprehensive user QoS and user policies to be configured and pushed throughout the entire network.
