Abstract

An on-device solution enables monitoring on the edge of the network, providing a view of what is happening at the point of service delivery and customer usage.

Executive Summary

 

Such a solution provides a more comprehensive picture of the customer's experience and behaviors than existing service quality management or business intelligence (BI) systems. It can also be designed to provide a response to customer behaviors or faults found on the device to provide opportunities for "just-in-time" marketing and "self-healing" functionality. 

 

 

 

This monitoring has a number of uses: 

  • Fault detection and resolution on an individual customer basis or at an aggregate level, which may be pro-active — allowing communications service providers (CSPs) to fix potential issues before they occur. 
  • Information from the on-device client can be used to inform customer services during an interaction with the customer. 
  • On-device monitoring can identify customer behaviors to trigger on-device or off-device marketing initiatives. 
  • Customer insight can be collected for future marketing initiatives or to inform service/device design.
