axRADIUS Server is a programmable and database backed RADIUS server for ATM DSLAM port based CPE configuration and IP forwarding to ACS. It can be used as an authentication or accounting server and as a RADIUS proxy server.
Main Features:
- RADIUS request handling can be customized regarding parsing and synthesis of static and dynamic information
- Data gathering and aggregation to and from the ACS
- Configurable caching of responses
- External interfaces can be adapted at deployment time to fit operators’ needs
- Databases supported: Oracle, MySQL, SQLite
- TR-069 inform generation directly from RADIUS packet processing
- Arbitrary RADIUS attributes
- IP calculation from any RADIUS attribute
- Clusterable, node synchronization via Axess CM (Cluster Manager)
- Integrated within Axess ACS provisioning flows
- Works also as accounting server to forward accounting information to main ACS server e.g. current IP address / port information of CPE.
Performance:
- RADIUS requests per second per node: > 6.000
- Performance degradation per node in cluster solely based on highly optimized DB read/write performance, no other shared resources
