Kabel Deutschland Gives Go-Ahead For "IP SLA Monitoring Of The Residential Home"

MUNICH, Germany – Kabel Deutschland - Germany’s largest cable company - decided on Axiros Axess as the central building block to manage nationwide service automation and monitoring in the domain of the residential home.

Kabel Deutschland is considering monitoring of the residential home as the top business issue in their future service strategy - both, to support their IPTV strategy and to assure SIP quality of existing VoIP services.

"No doubt - customer experience is one of the most talked about concepts in telco business today. Everyone from Innovations to Operations to the CEO mentions the ´experience´ of customers as the mission critical success factor. Therefore the ability to offer support to customers at a real-time customer experience level is one of the top telco business issues [...]" says Kurt Peterhans, MD Operations at Axiros.

After an intensive evaluation phase Kabel Deutschland decided on Axiros Axess Service Delivery Platform (SDP) for service automation and monitoring of residential devices. Seamless integration within existing service automation and support flows was a basic prerequisite - the ability to consolidate performance statistics in real-time at a rate of more than 5000 hits per second per appliance the crucial factor for this decision.

With this in hand Kabel Deutschland is now enabled
1. to minimize time to launch new services and to add new services in real-time environments
2. to significantly reduce costs associated with acquiring new customers and
3. to offer support to residential customers at a real-time customer experience level

„We look forward to the benefits we get through Axiros´ Axess server, particularly those with respect to set-up and monitoring of our subscribers´ IP-based services“, says Nicolai Böke, Head of IP Engineering at Kabel Deutschland.
